Hero Worship :Pep Guardiola

To choose a hero at the age of 26 has to be something of an anachronism and to write about about it 2 years later at the age of 28 just after the death of Steve Jobs who it isn't; must be stranger still. Yet I still fell the need to put this down somewhere, at least I wish to remember the man for the struggle through establishment of ideals before the perpetuation of his success transforms the historical notion of him into just that.

Pep is my idol. He believed in a way a game should be played and he had no machines conforming to exact mathematical doctrines to realise his vision. Within the well defined boundaries of a 110m by 75m he had 20 men, identities changing each year, psychological profiles changing each day and and vicissitudes of mood affecting them each minute, to bring to realisation a vision. One man's courage and conviction has had to overpower the doubts and opposing convictions of so many others.

This is my tribute until the day I find better words or a means within a space that is similarly circumscribed.
